Lincoln City: Fuseini charges dropped

Ali Fuseini

Lincoln City’s new midfield signing Ali Fuseini has been cleared of all charges whilst on trial in London.

Just before the transfer deadline last month, Lincoln City signed former Millwall midfielder Ali Fuseini after he assured the club of his legal position.

Fuseini, 23, joined the Imps with a court case still hanging over him in the capital. There were allegations against the Ghanaian midfielder of allegedly  abducting and aiding and abetting in a rape case.

The 18-year-old woman had agreed to a lift home from a London night club in Mr Fuseini’s Mercedes-Benz.

A not guilty verdict was passed on Fuseini and the judge presiding over the case at Blackfriars Crown Court in London said there was no case to answer.

Steve Tilson certainly believes that City have a “good player” and that now, Fuseini can focus on his football and impress on the pitch at Sincil Bank.

Fuseini made his Imps debut on Tuesday, February 1 at the Coral Windows Stadium against Bradford City. The new midfielder came on after the break to replace fellow Lincoln debutant, Patrick Kanyuka.

He helped the Imps to secure a 2-1 win over the Bantams and a fourth successive win in League Two.
