Discover Lincolnshire this weekend

This weekend Lincolnshire’s tourist board is helping residents, and tourists alike, discover their love for the city.

‘Discover Lincolnshire’ happens every year to promote what Lincoln has to offer the public. It aims to showcase its most fascinating attractions, who will be opening their doors absolutely free of charge.
Michelle Simmons, Lincolns Visitor Information Manager, thinks the weekend helps boost the city’s economy every year it happens. “It’s important we do this, not only does it bring in vibrant trade, the event draws visitors back to Lincoln.”
“Everyone who comes to the event has a good time because there’s so much going on, and this weekend will be no exception.” She said.
There will be guided tours to explore the Bailgate area of the city, taking a special interest in its medieval history. The tours begin tomorrow evening, Friday 4th March, and will continue between 10-6pm through the weekend.
As well as opening their doors free of charge, many participating venues will be hosting special events to captivate visitors. This includes Lincoln’s Castle, who are putting on a re-enactment of 15th century life to capture its younger audience.
